This stylish Napa Designed by the esteemed architectural firm Cutler Anderson, the home combines urban privacy, modern architecture and a 22.58-acre vineyard known for its premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grapes.
It’s the kind of California wine country blend that both local and foreign buyers often look for when looking for an apartment, said listing agent Cyd Greer of Coldwell Banker Brokers of the Valley’s St. Helena office.
“These are people who want a very high quality, architecturally significant home with a lot of privacy, while also wanting a profitable, high-end winery,” she said. “This trait has all three.”
The home on North Third Avenue, known as the Meteor Vineyard Estate, is within the original 18th-century settlement of Napa founder Nathan Coombs, Ms. Greer said.

“That is the vineyard,” she said. “This is the best vineyard in the Coombsville AVA region. It has been called the grand cru of the Coombsville region.”
She declined to release any numbers, but said the vineyard was “outstanding in terms of profitability.”
Architectural and design features include wood paneling and floors, cedar clapboards, large expanses of wood-framed floor-to-ceiling windows that enjoy mountain and vineyard views and flood the rooms with natural light. There are also ceiling heights of nearly 40 feet, programmable blinds, Douglas fir beams, skylights, and butterfly-shaped metal canopies that channel rainwater into two-story waterfalls over the koi pond.
The dramatic two-story foyer opens to formal living and dining rooms with a two-sided gas fireplace and French doors to the grounds and dining terrace. An oversized office features an island for media storage, built-in closets and extensive countertops.
The eat-in kitchen features GeoCrete countertops with decorative inlays, carbonized bamboo cabinets and paneling with edge grain, a dumbwaiter, butler’s pantry, and appliances from Sub-Zero, Gaggenau, and Miele.

The three bedroom guest house has a deck overlooking a heated plunge pool and the estate’s vineyard and is connected to the main house from the west wing by a 40-foot cedar wooden walkway.
The property also has a grove of valley oaks with a 500-year-old tree, Ms Greer said. “The valley oaks have a beautiful propagation form. They’re very iconic in Napa.”

The 11,600 square foot main house has four bedrooms, five bathrooms and two partial baths. The 1,270 square foot guest house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a partial bathroom. There is also a 380 square meter studio. The site measures 34.24 hectares.
