Current records: New Mexico 2-9; State of Colorado 2-9
What you should know
The New Mexico Lobos and Colorado State Rams will face off in a Mountain West matchup on November 25 at 3:30 p.m. ET at Canvas Stadium. If the nothing-to-nothing final from the last time they met is any indication, this fight will be decided by defense.
The Lobos must be injured after a crushing 10-34 loss to the San Diego State Aztecs last week. New Mexico ended the third quarter down 31-10, which was just too much to recover from. Their only offensive touchdown came from QB CJ Montes.
Meanwhile, Colorado State came up short against the Air Force Falcons last week, losing 24-12. Nobody had a standout offensive game for the Rams, but they did pick up points from WR Tory Horton and TE Jordan Williams.
New Mexico is expected to lose this next game by 7. Those betting on them against the spread should not have high expectations of them as the squad is 1-5 ATS when expected to lose.
The losses pushed both teams to an identical 2-9. A few defensive numbers to keep an eye on before kickoff: New Mexico ranks 21st in the nation when it comes to passing touchdowns, with just 13 on the season. As for Colorado State, they go into play averaging just 203.2 yards per game, which ranks 35th best in the nation.
