WASHINGTON, DC – National Turkey Federation (NTF) Chairman Ronnie Parker presented President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. with the National Thanksgiving Turkey called “Chocolate” during the National Thanksgiving Turkey Presentation today. “Chocolate” and his deputy “Chip” received a formal pardon from the holiday table and will now reside at North Carolina State University’s Talley Turkey Education Unit in Raleigh, North Carolina. This year’s presentation was an exciting milestone as NTF celebrated 75 years of this time-honored American tradition that dates back to 1947.

“When I began my career in the turkey industry 44 years ago, I never dreamed that I would have the opportunity to present National Thanksgiving Turkey at the White House,” said NTF Chairman Ronnie Parker. “I want to thank President Biden for welcoming the National Turkey Federation and my family to the White House. Chocolate and Chip had quite a remarkable day for two North Carolina turkeys! While this event is a fun tradition spanning 75 years, it’s also an important reminder of the importance of American turkey producers and agriculture in putting food on the table. It is an honor to represent these hard working men and women. Happy Thanksgiving!”
