It’s the postseason in high school football. The Longhorns have several commitments vying for a state title.

New Orleans Isidore Newman QB Arch Manning and TE Will Randle: The Greenies (8-2) defeated Sophie B. Wright in their first playoff game by a bye last week. Newman meets Baton Rouge University Lab in the quarterfinals of the LHSAA Division III Select Playoffs at 7 p.m. Friday

Desoto WR Johntay Cook and RB Tre Wisner: The Eagles (10-2) defeated Rockwall-Heath in an area round victory last week. Desoto will take on Tomball in the 6A-DII Region 2 Semifinals at The Pfield in Pflugerville on Friday at 4:00 p.m

New Iberia (La.) Westgate Security Derek Williams: Westgate (9-3) advanced again last week with a win over Slidell (LA). The Tigers play their quarterfinal game against Monroe (LA) Neville on Friday at 7:00 p.m

Dallas South Oak Cliff Cornerback Malik Muhammad and RAND Billy Walton: The Golden Bears (9-3) won their preliminary round game against Lucas Lovejoy last week. SOC meets Midlothian Heritage in the regional 5A-DII semi-finals at Vernon Newsom Stadium in Mansfield on Friday at 15:00

Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater RB Cedric Baxter: The Eagles (12-0) were pressured by Tampa Bay Tech last week. Edgewater advances to the quarterfinals of the FHSAA playoffs and meets Orlando (FL) Jones at 1:00 p.m. Saturday

Austin Westlake EDGE Colton Vasek: Westlake (12-0) had no trouble against New Braunfels last week. The Chaps meet San Benito at 2:00 p.m. Friday at San Antonio’s Alamo Stadium

Harker Heights OL Jaydon Chatman: The Knights (11-1) passed Royse City in the area round last week. Harker Heights meets Spring Dekaney in the 6A-DII Region II semifinals at Waco’s McLane Stadium on Friday at 6:00 p.m

Oradell (NJ) Bergen Catholic DL Sydir Mitchell: Bergen Catholic (10-1) made it through the playoff bracket and they’re back in the state championship. The Crusaders must top Don Bosco Prep to take home the trophy at 6:00 p.m. Friday at MetLife Stadium

North Crowley LB S’Maje Burrell: The Panthers (12-0) squeezed out a win in the Area Round last week. North Crowley meets Prosper in the semifinals of the 6A-DI Region I at Arlington’s Choctaw Stadium at 3:00 p.m. Saturday

Houston CE King DL Dylan Spencer: The Panthers (8-4) keep moving after a win over Clear Falls. CE King meets Fort BEnd Hightower in the 6A-DII Region III Semifinals at Cypress’ Pridgeon Stadium on Friday at 1:00 p.m

Kahuku (Hawaii) LB Liona Lefau: The Red Raiders (11-2) made it to the final stage. Kahuku meets Punahou Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the First Hawaiian Bank HHSAA Football State Championships

Melissa OL Trevor Goosby: Melissa (10-2) outperformed Ennis in a thriller last week. The Cardinals meet Terrell in the 5A-DII Region II semifinals at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the Ford Center in Frisco

Santa Ana (California) Mater Dei TE Spencer Shannon: The Monarchs (12-0) find themselves in the state championship game. Mater Dei meets powerhouse Bellflower (California) St. John Bosco for the Division I California State Championship at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif

Mansfield Timberview OL Andre Cojoe: Wolves (12-0) defeated Barbers Hill in the Area Round last week. Timberview meets Frisco Reedy in the semi-finals of the 5A-DI Region II at Pennington Field in Bedford at 3:00 p.m. on Friday

Daingerfield CB Aeryn Hampton (2024): The Tigers (10-2) dealt with De Kalb last week. The Tigers meet Newton at Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches at 18:00 on Friday

Aledo CB Jaden Allen (2024): The Bearcats (10-2) didn’t have a problem with Lubbock Cooper last week. Aledo will have a tough duel with Midlothian on Friday at 18:00 at Midlothian ISD Stadium
